Love Without Reason

Having children is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding things in life. The excitement of expanding your family and having your love create a person is amazing!!! Those who are already parents also know that this is the toughest and most heart wrenching thing to deal with at times!! Good parents are committed to doing their job as given by God to raise their children the best they possibly can. So what happens when it doesn't look like you planned? What happens when your children make choices that you do not agree with or that could prove to be harmful to them now that they are older?

#1 Did you raise them to know right from wrong? If so, the information that you provided is available to them and God can remind them when it is needed.

#2 Can you control their choices once they are grown? No!! and you shouldn't want to. It's hard to watch but you raised them to live a productive life...to be independent...you have to let them.

#3 Did you learn from your mistakes growing up? They will do the same. Just continue to be available and to pray that they are safe and being led by God.

We have to trust them to God, knowing that we taught them all that we knew to teach them. There are those times that we must love beyond our emotions, reason, and in spite of fear and anger. But truthfully, God loves us in spite of our flaws and shortcomings. He is there waiting to hold us when we are finished "throwing a fit" because life let us down. He was there with us all along...and we are there for our children. We have to let them have the right to make the mistake and learn from it and trust that God will protect and guide them. Is this easy? Sometimes more than others but what they go through and learn is part of their testimony. Giving them to God brings peace to you...knowing that you have done your all. He never stops being there for them and for us. No matter what the situation looks like.
