"I Will Fight For You!"

On Friday, August 12, 2022, I was gathered with two other women at Pure Vitality Ministries where I go to worship and pray. As I prayed and worshipped I saw by the Spirit a fire tornado. That was my best description at the time and all I saw was the tornado, but it moved me to tears. I could feel such love, from God. I tend to cry when I talk about it. I felt led to go to the Word of God and study more about what I was seeing.
In the book of Exodus the thirteenth chapter talks about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. See verses 21 and 22, "21 And the Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, so that they might [s]travel by day and by night.22 [t]He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from the presence of the people." (NASB)
They were able to travel by day and by night, because of the direction of God. It did not matter the time or how dark it was, they could see the path that He wanted them to travel. Numbers 9:15, "15 Now on the day that the tabernacle was erected, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony, and in the evening it was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle until morning." (NASB). In verses 16-23 it explains that they would not move unless the cloud went up and they were given the instruction to do so. If the cloud was in place only overnight, they only stayed overnight. If God said 5-10 days, so be it. They did not move without HIS direction.
The word tornado was first used in the 16th century so that would not be a word that they would know to describe the pillar, but I was amazed to see it myself as it makes perfect sense. It would raise and lower to let them know to move or to camp.
Now the people became afraid when they saw that the route took them to what looked like a dead end. God led them to the Red Sea with no other way around. It looked hopeless and they asked Moses if he brought them to the desert to die. But look at chapter 14 verses 13 and 14, "13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! [h]Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever.14 The Lord will fight for you, while you keep silent.” (NASB) The Lord went on to question Moses, "15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.16 As for you, lift up your staff and reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall [i]go through the midst of the sea on dry land." (NASB)
Have you come to a place that looks like a dead end? Are asking, what is the next step? God has not forgotten you, He has the answer and His plan is precise.
God had already placed the answer in the hand of Moses. He expected them to keep moving. He had not instructed them to stop. The cloud/pillar of fire was still leading them. But to the natural eye, there didn't appear to be a way. God had to remind Moses of the weapon/tool in his hand. God instructed Him to use it, just as He told him when dealing with Pharaoh before the exodus.
God will use what is In your hand.
We see in verses 19 and 20 that God moved from in front of the Israelites to behind them. He was strategic in His planning. "19Then the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud [k]along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Therefore the one did not approach the other all night.“ (NASB)
So God sent darkness to the side of the enemy and light to the side of the Israelites.
God can bring you clarity and focus, and help you to see His path, no matter how dark things get In your life or in the world. Just keep seeking Him.
Exodus 14: 24, "But at the morning watch, the Lord looked down on the [n]army of the Egyptians [o]through the pillar of fire and cloud, and brought the [p]army of the Egyptians into confusion.25 He [q]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.” (NASB)
The Lord literally fought for them. We see this countless times in the scriptures, but this was such a powerful reminder for me at a time that I really need it.
Your enemy is not out of God's site. He sees every attack, interference, and war waged on your purpose, your breakthrough, your family, your health, and your calling. No area of your life is out of the reach of God if you submit it to HIm.
In Numbers we see Moses interceding for the Israelites. He reminds God of what He has done, "and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, Lord, are in the midst of this people, because You, Lord, are seen eye to eye, while Your cloud stands over them; and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night" Numbers 14:14 (NASB). The people had been sinful but Moses reminds God of the things that the other nations have seen HIm do and asks, "19 Please forgive the guilt of this people in accordance with the greatness of Your mercy, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” (NASB)
God said, "No matter what direction your enemy comes from, I have you". See in the painting the enemy is thrown into confusion and those walking with the Lord are safe and at peace. Nothing from the waters harmed them and the army was wiped out by God's own hand. It is no different today. Woe to those who directly oppose God and His ways, but blessings and protection, provision, and direction are for those who are following HIm.
Be encouraged. This message was not just for the three of us who were present, it is for all who will follow and obey His voice, look for His direction, and are willing to go wherever He leads.
Be blessed.
In His love,
Charissa
